The Perfection Base is the headquarters of Perfection. It is located underneath of the Jade Tower in Helios City and is also connected to the Black Market.
Walkthrough
Journey to save the Augur
- As the player explores further into the base they come across Damian, who is standing behind Taen. Attempting to talk to Damian causes a scene to play where Reukra explains his cult's ideals and the fact that they're researching Mega Evolution.
- Assist Reukra by battling Taen.
- After defeating Taen, listen to Reukra talk for a bit longer before heading up, picking up the Mega Stone matching the player's starter Pokémon and then entering the Jade Tower through the fan in the room at the end of the hallway.
Access to Mount Rose
- After encountering Nora and Taen on Mount Rose, return to the Perfection Base and join next to Nora to observe a scene where Reukra asks for the player's assistance in defeating Zenith.
- Assist Reukra by giving him a sample of Mew's DNA and then battling Taen.
- After defeating Taen, Reukra agrees to cooperate with Nora and the player in order for them to gain access to the remainder of Mount Rose and the Infernal Base.
Taen Quest
- After receiving Orion's phone call and speaking to him in the Suntouched Gym, return here to observe Reukra as he is harassed by a swarm of protesters. Reukra leaves the base after losing his patience, but not before informing the player that he hasn't seen Taen in a while.
- Gail battles the player.
- After defeating Gail, she tells the player to head to Gaea Town and enter the First Augur's Gym in order to access No Man's Land. She also gives the player the Hiking Boots.
After completing the Taen, Damian, and Holon Quests
- Return to the main area of the base, where a note from Reukra will be placed on the floor.
- Read the note and then pursue Reukra by heading to Amphitrite City and entering the Crystal Caves.
After subduing Arceus
- A group of policemen will now be found in the base, allowing the player to access the previously locked rooms containing several of Reukra's diaries concerning his experiments.
- After reading all of the diaries, the player will receive the Laboratory Key.
- An additional hidden room will now be accessible on the level below, which leads the player into a series of puzzles involving boulders and switches.
- The blue switch puzzle is straightforward and simply requires the two boulders to be carefully pushed around until they activate both of the switches.
- For the pink switch puzzle, ignore the boulder in the bottom-right corner of the room. Move the other two boulders until they cover the top two switches to gain access to the next room. Before starting the yellow switch puzzle, head left and manipulate the Manaphy statue so that it covers the top-most pink switch. Push one of the boulders sitting on the pink switches into the yellow switch room.
- To solve the yellow switch puzzle, ignore the two boulders in the top-right corner and carefully manipulate the other three boulders so that they cover the three yellow switches.
- Move the Manaphy statue onto the green switch to gain access to the last room.
- The final puzzle in this area involves a circuit puzzle similar to the ones found in the Satellite Tower. However, unlike the previous circuit puzzles, this one can only be solved by selecting a tile, which consequently rotates the selected tile as well as the other four tiles located in each of its cardinal directions.
Rotation puzzle strategy:
First, solve the first row. This can be done easily by rotating the tile below the one you want to manipulate. Do this with the second row and then the third row. Select one of the following series of steps based on the state of the bottom row (shows number of times each tile needs to be rotated to solve the puzzle from that initial condition).
- All four bottom tiles are incorrect
2 | 1 | 0 | 2 |
1 | 1 | 1 | 2 |
0 | 0 | 0 | 3 |
3 | 3 | 0 | 3 |
- Only two bottom corner tiles are incorrect
1 | 1 | 2 | 0 |
2 | 0 | 1 | 2 |
1 | 0 | 3 | 1 |
1 | 0 | 3 | 2 |
- Only two bottom middle tiles are incorrect
2 | 3 | 1 | 2 |
3 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
1 | 3 | 0 | 0 |
1 | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Completed puzzle for reference:
- After completing the final puzzle, the player has one opportunity to battle and capture Mewtwo.
