The Infernal Base is the secret base of the Infernal Cult, where Zenith plans to put his finishing touches on controlling the entirety of the Torren region. The base is filled with pools of lava and locked doors that require the thumbprint of registered cultists in order to open.
The upper floor of the base is listed as the Infernal Base while the lower floor of the base is listed in-game as the Infernal Dungeon. The Infernal Dungeon produces wild encounters when the player returns to the base after dismantling the Infernal Cult.
Walkthrough
Stopping the Infernal Cult
- After being confined to a prison cell in the base, continue pestering the Infernal Grunt until he loses his patience and locks himself in the cell with the player to battle them.
- Once the battle is finished, take the cultist's DNA and use it with the Quartz Flute to transform into the Infernal Cultist and escape from the cell.
- Head south and then west to briefly run into Calreath, who is currently confined in a prison cell but seems to be unperturbed by his situation.
- Continue southwest and then northeast to find a set of stairs leading back up to the area listed as the Infernal Base.
- Head north, using the Chansey to heal as needed, and then travel west to reach the room where Zenith is about to begin his broadcast.
- Walking up either of the sets of stairs triggers a lengthy scene which ends with the player battling against Zenith.
- After defeating Zenith, interact with him to obtain his DNA and then use the Quartz Flute to transform into Zenith before speaking to either of the cameramen.
- When the broadcast finishes, head back east and talk to Manaphy to gain the Manaphy Powder and the ability to use Heart Swap with the Quartz Flute.
- Once Groudon's return to deep within the earth starts to cause the base to collapse, follow Persephone into the room where Diana is being kept in her cell.
- After Persephone finishes speaking, use Heart Swap to switch places with the Manaphy statue and then press the yellow switch to open Diana's cell. Switch places with the Manaphy statue again.
- Leave the Infernal Base with Diana and return to Deyraan Town.
Magma Stone Quest
- Once the player has been informed that the Magma Stone has fallen into Rose Crater and, by extension, the Infernal Base they must head back down into the lower levels of the Infernal Dungeon in order to locate the stone.
- Return to the door that was previously jammed and inaccessible to the player in the northwest corner of the base before entering and obtaining the Magma Suit.
- After equipping the Magma Suit, enter behind the curtain of lava to the north to begin exploring the Upper Mantle.
After retrieving the Magma Stone and subduing Groudon
- As soon as the player reemerges from behind the lava concealing the entrance to the Upper Mantle, a double battle will trigger versus both Heatran and Volcanion. Note that as this is a double battle and thus only allows one of the two Pokémon to be captured at maximum, the player will need to revisit their normal domains in order to capture them later. Knocking out both Pokémon during this battle causes both of them to reappear in their natural domains.
- After completing the double battle, leave the base and return the Magma Stone to the man in green in Deyraan Town.
