Orion is the Gym Leader of Suntouched City's Gym, known officially as the Suntouched Gym. He specializes in mostly Fire-type Pokémon. He gives the Thermal Badge to Trainers who defeat him.
In the game
Orion appears in Pokémon Insurgence as the Gym Leader of Suntouched City's Gym. This Gym is the first to be challenged by the player. Trainers who defeat him will be given the Thermal Badge, along with TM43 (Flame Charge).
Orion is known by the inhabitants of Suntouched City to be a skilled but odd battler. During his free time he is said to be found talking to a white rock that he keeps by his side at all times. People attribute this as a side effect from Orion's loneliness as a Gym Leader, but Orion himself insists that the rock has talked to him.
After the player defeats him in a Gym battle, Orion is paid a visit by Harmony followed by the Perfection Cultist Taen along with his Kyurem. While Taen doesn't explain his motives entirely, he makes it clear that the only reason he has come to Orion's Gym is to steal the white rock. As Taen assaults Orion, the white rock responds to the situation and awakens, revealing that it was Reshiram all along. Reshiram flees the scene shortly after awakening with the cultists in hot pursuit, and Harmony apologizes profusely for accusing Orion of being a delusional child. Reshiram returns to Orion's side soon after and Orion vows to keep its presence secret to reduce the risks of being paid another visit by the cultists in the future.
Orion appears later in the game in Anastasia's Hidden Workshop, which he is drawn to due to Reshiram being able to sense Zekrom's presence from that location. After Taen states that Zekrom is under his control, Taen taunts Orion by saying that he doesn't care about Zekrom at all if he's not willing to ante Reshiram in order to set Zekrom free. Orion takes Taen's bait and sends out Reshiram to battle the newly armored Zekrom only for it to lose to the new powers granted to Zekrom by its armor. Taen takes Reshiram as his prize for winning and disappears after being defeated by the player. Orion decides to travel to the Dragon Ruins in order to take Reshiram back.
At the Dragon Ruins, Orion appears after Nora and the player are able to defeat Taen and retrieves Reshiram after it separates from Kyurem. As Taen vows to take revenge and leaves, Orion is thankful for the player's assistance and offers to give the player extra training in his gym later should he/she ever need it.
This marks the end of Orion's role in the story at this point in the game's development
