New Moon is a non-damaging Dark-type move exclusive to Pokémon Insurgence. It is TM62.

Effect

When New Moon is used, darkness will begin to cover the field. This effect will last for 5 turns unless the user is holding a Dark Rock, which increases the duration to 8 turns. This clears any other type of weather, excluding heavy rain, extremely harsh sunlight, and strong winds.

While New Moon is in effect, the base power of Dark-type and Ghost moves will be increased by 35%, and the base power of Fairy moves will be decreased by 25%. In addition to this, the moves Morning Sun and Synthesis will heal the user by 33% of the normal amount, Moonlight will have its healing increased by 33%, and Lunar Cannon, Shadow Force and Phantom Force will not require a turn to charge. The power of Surf is increased by 50% and the power of Solar Beam is reduced by 70%. The move Hone Claws increases the Accuracy and Attack of the user by two stages instead of one. Stat increases from the move Geomancy are halved. Nightmare's effect is increased from 25% to 50%. Flash reduces Accuracy by 2 stages instead of 1. Reflect and Light Screen cause attacks to deal ⁴/₁₀× and ⁸/₁₅× original damage in Single and Double battles respectively while New Moon is active. Weather Ball becomes a Dark-type move and its power is doubled.

Pokémon with the ability Shadow Dance will have their Speed doubled. Pokémon with the ability Heliophobia will regain ¹/₈ of their maximum HP at the end of each turn. Pokémon with the Absolution Ability will have their Special Attack raised by 50% and lose ¹/₈ of their HP each turn. Pokémon with the ability Supercell will have their Special Attack raised by 50%. Forecast causes Castform to become Dark-type. The effects of Bad Dreams are increased from 12.5% to 25%. Pressure reduces by PP by 3 instead of 2. Illuminate increases Evasion by 25%. Fairy-type moves are not boosted by Fairy Aura while New Moon is active; Fairy Aura is therefore unaffected by Aura Break while New moon is active. Dark-type moves are boosted by Dark Aura by ⁵/₃× instead of ⁴/₃× under New Moon; Dark Aura therefore reduces Dark-type moves by ³/₅× instead of ³/₄× due to Aura Break while New Moon is active.
