Soaring is a feature introduced in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire which has been simulated and integrated into Pokémon Insurgence. Soaring allows the player to enter a 3D rendering of the maps of both the Torren and Holon regions where they can move around through the sky and discover various Pokémon and new locations. It is only accessible by completing the PikaTaxi guy's quest and upgrading the PikaTaxi to the EmolgaTaxi. As the player cannot use Fly in the Holon region, Soaring remains the only method of fast travel that the player can use while in the region.

Mechanics

Soaring can first be accessed after completing the PikaTaxi guy's quest and upgrading the PikaTaxi to the EmolgaTaxi. After speaking to him when these requirements have been met, the player is given the option to Soar or Fly.

While soaring, several wild Flying-type Pokémon may be encountered, as well as new locations that are otherwise inaccessible by exploring the region on foot. Players may also freely travel to any previously visited location, much in the same way as flying.

Pressing Q and W rotates the camera angle while pressing T and Y zooms the camera out and in respectively.

Landing

As the player passes over locations that are marked on the Torren map, they may interact with their cursor over a Pokémon Center or other similar feature of significance to land in that location. This works in the same way and with the same restrictions as Fly does outside of battle. Mainly, this means that a location must have been visited on the ground before the player can land. In a few cases, a certain location must be visited before another can be visited.

Places of interest

Torren

Slither Forest

Main article: Slither Forest

Slither Forest is an unexplored forest found off the southeast coast of Torren that is home to a large number of snake Pokémon. Heart Swap is required to explore it fully.

Mysterious Spire

Main article: Mysterious Spire

An enigmatic location located off the southwest coast of Torren. Though exploration of it is limited early in the game, a man in the Battle Frontier hints that it may not be worth fully exploring until the Pokédex has been completed.

NO DATA

Main article: NO DATA

A bizarre location that appears in the southeast Torren region when a series of unusual conditions have been met. It may not officially exist at all except as a glitch in the game itself. Mysteriously it claims to be Gaea Town when hovered over by the player...

Dev Island

Main article: Dev Island

This island acts as the final challenge for the player. On this island, the player will be able to engage in battle nine of the trainers responsible for the development and creation of Pokémon Insurgence. Be warned that these battles, though they can be accessed after obtaining Rock Climb, should not be attempted until the player has at minimum completed the Elite Four rematches, as the levels of the Pokémon used by each developer are higher than any others encountered during normal gameplay. A special reward awaits those who are able to defeat all nine developers.

Thanatos Cliffs

Main article: Thanatos Cliffs

This area is only accessible by first defeating the Elite Four rematch and then soaring near Deyraan Town. This will allow the player to go against Yveltal and attempt to capture it.

Coatlicue Gardens

Main article: Coatlicue Gardens

The Coatlicue Gardens are accessible by first defeating the Elite Four rematch and then soaring to the southwest of Deyraan Town. In the garden, the player can find a Xerneas and attempt to capture it.

Holon

Lost Pond

Main article: Lost Pond

Lost Pond is a serene spot located in the northeast Holon region. Though the island is largely empty and devoid of points of interest, there are rumors of the appearance of a Delta Pokémon that enjoys the pond's tranquility.

Cloud Bottle

Main article: Cloud Bottle (Location)

Cloud Bottle is where the player will encounter a special Delta Pokemon. Only encounterable by soaring through a Hoopa ring atop Holon Volcano, this is a location able to be arrived at following a victorious rematch against the Elite Four

Pokémon

Percentages indicate the chance for each Pokémon to spawn when entering the map. This is relevant mainly for specific Delta Pokémon. Assume that Delta Pokémon and Legendary Pokémon do not respawn if defeated.

Note that unless stated otherwise, all Pokémon levels scale with respect to the player's party Pokémon similarly to Rock Smash.
