'''Meganium''' is a {{type|Grass}} Pokémon.
It {{BLink|evolve}}s from {{p|Bayleef}} starting at {{BLink|level}} 32. It is the final form of {{p|Chikorita}}. It can [[Mega Evolution|Mega Evolve]] into '''Mega Meganium''' using the {{DL|Mega Stone|Meganiumite}}.
==Pokédex entry==
{{Dex|type1=Grass|The fragrance of a Meganium's flower soothes and calms emotions. In battle, it gives off more of its becalming scent to blunt the foe's fighting spirit.}}

Using a Meganiumite, a Meganium can further evolve into Mega Meganium. Its Mega ability, [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Magic_Bounce_(Ability) Magic Bounce], allows you to reflect status condition-inducing moves, entry hazard moves, moves like Taunt and Torment, and so on back to the user. Furthermore, Mega evolving Meganium will lead to a +40 boost in the defense base stat, a +40 boost in the speed base stat, and a +20 boost in the speed base stat.

==Strategy==
Thanks to its tremendous typing and ridiculous bulk, Mega Meganium can put a stop to threats like Garchomp, Dragonite, Breloom, Mega Crawdaunt, Mega Cacturne, and Keldeo along with quite a few others. It also has great utility with its ability, Magic Bounce. In a metagame influenced greatly by hazards (such as Spikes, Stealth Rock, Sticky Web, etc.) keeping them off of the field is one of the most important tasks to a competitive battler, and Magic Bounce helps keep a player's side clean. This ability will also put a stop to annoying Pokémon like Sableye from carrying out their shenanigans, as Magic Bounce also bounces back status attacks and Taunt. Unlike other Magic Bounce users (such as Espeon & Xatu) it has the perfect typing and bulk to make use of this ability. Unfortunately it has a subpar support movepool with only a few viable options (Aromatherapy, Leech Seed, and Dragon Tail). Not only that, Poison moves makes quick work of it, due to the massive quadruple weakness.

Overall this is a very good Pokémon that can support teams tremendously with its bulky and ability to deny hazards.

==Trivia==
* Meganium shares the same base stats with {{p|Venusaur}} (and by extension {{p|Delta Venusaur}}), just in a different order.
* Meganium is the only starter Pokémon introduced in Generation II that becomes dual-typed upon Mega Evolving.
* Mega Meganium is tied with {{p|Delta Venusaur|Mega Delta Venusaur}} for the highest base stat total of all non-Legendary {{type|Fairy}} Pokémon.

Trivia

  • Meganium shares the same base stats with Venusaur (and by extension Delta Venusaur), just in a different order.
  • Meganium is the only starter Pokémon introduced in Generation II that becomes dual-typed upon Mega Evolving.
  • Mega Meganium is tied with Mega Delta Venusaur for the highest base stat total of all non-Legendary Fairy-type Pokémon.
