A Gym Leader is the highest-ranking member of a Pokémon Gym. The main job of a Gym Leader is to test Trainers and their Pokémon so that they are strong and resourceful enough to compete against the Elite Four. If a Trainer defeats a Gym Leader in battle, then the Trainer earns that Gym's Badge.

Pokémon used

The Gym Leaders encountered in Insurgence differ from Gym Leaders fought in the core series Pokémon games by having teams that stick to a particular theme rather than a specific type. For instance, while Orion of the Suntouched Gym uses mostly Fire-type Pokémon, his team revolves around the use of intense sunlight to power up moves and abilities.
